Native Coin

To keep Laika highly integrated with Dogecoin and always be in spec. The chosen native coin for the blockchain is Dogecoin (DOGE). This while being ideal for a true Layer 2 network, creates a challenge as Doge cannot be generated on the Laika network.

This all DOGE existing on Laika is bridged directly from the Layer 1 Dogecoin, the Dogecoin remains locked in the bridge addresses in the Layer 1 chain.

Whenever DOGE is bridged into Laika, the Doge is locked into the Layer 1 vault, and is released from the bridge contract on the Laika Chain.

Whenever DOGE is bridged out of Laika, the Doge is locked back again into the bridge contract on the Layer 2 and released from the Layer 1 Vault.
